The beautiful traditional Perthshire Hotel has appointed Nigel Bird as their new General Manager this month.
Nigel Bird, who has a long history of working with luxury venues having spent one year as General Manager at the five star Ackergill Tower and two years managing the four star Lodge on Loch Lomond, is keen to undertake the running of Murrayshall House Hotel, ‘I am delighted to have been bestowed the privilege of managing this fabulous property and golf courses and to taking it to its next stage of development.’
Murrayshall House Hotel is situated within a 365 acre estate high up on a hill overlooking the town of Scone. The property has been home to lords, viscounts, and aristocrats since 1664. The Murrayshall Golf Course was designed by Hamilton J. Stutt who was involved with over 120 new golf course builds and improvement projects in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Scandinavia and the Middle East.
Bird is keen to work on improving all of the hotel’s services and standards, thus enhancing the experience of the guests, staff and local community as well as establishing Murrayshall as one of Scotland’s premier wedding venues.
Murrayshall Hotel is currently undergoing a major refurbishment programme which is progressing well, hoping to shortly be welcoming guests into their new Lynedoch Brasserie, bridal suite and lounges. The renovation of their award winning dining venue is set to encompass a new atmosphere in the more relaxed, soon to open, Brassiere.
