Abu-Dhabi-based Twenty14 Holdings plans to add 50 new rooms to the property and further develop the hotel’s historical Caledonian Suites with the help of local artists and craftsmen.

The Caley's new owners are also converting Great Scotland Yard in London into a luxury hotel.

Twenty14 Holdings is part of Lulu Group International owned by Indian billionaire Yusuff Ali. The company bought the property from Goldman Sachs, making the renowned 241-room historic hotel the latest adition to their exquisite portfolio of hotels.

Adeeb Ahamed, managing director of Twenty14 Holdings said:

“We are excited to add The Caledonian to the portfolio of Twenty14 Holdings. With more than hundred years of history, The Caledonian brings with it a rich heritage, character and unique opulence.

“We are honoured to be part of this Scottish landmark that has a great connect with the locals and visitors alike. We look forward to adding to the experience The Caledonian already offers.”

Waldord Astoria Edinburgh, The Caledonian will continue to be managed by Hilton under the Waldorf Astoria brand and the expansion project will begin in 2019. The hotel currently has two renowned restaurants run by Michelin-starred chefs and brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin and a busy multi award-winning luxury spa.
