The award-winning hotel in Aberdeen celebrates its 40th anniversary this year with a £500,000 refurbishment.

The Aberdeen Altens Hotel has already spent almost £80,000 on an overhaul of the facility’s busy fitness suite. Work has achieved expansion and refurbishment of the gym, the installation of new equipment including state-of-the-art Pulse gym kit and the creation of a new functional training zone.

Now, £500,000 will be spent on the food and beverage areas which are in line for a new open plan concept.  The scheme will increase the number of covers and create a flexible dining destination with zoned casual and formal dining options in a setting which incorporates local references and homely touches.

General Manager Kris Manship said: “Following on from our Gym refurbishment, we are now looking ahead to the next phase of work with excited anticipation.  The creation of a multifaceted dining environment will correctly mirror the diversity of our guests and represents a major step-change in our food and beverage offering.”
