Edinburgh’s Dunstane Houses will be launching their inaugural dog-friendly package this Autumn.

Stays will take place in Hampton House which recently underwent an expansive renovation to introduce fresh interiors celebrating both the building’s neoclassical past and the owners’ own Orcadian roots.

In line with the hotel’s home-from-home ethos, every need is provided for. From an in-room doggy bed, bowl and treats to a glass of paw-secco on arrival, guests will immediately feel at home and can travel light without worry.

The hotel’s generous layout includes both the Hampton House garden and Dunstane House’s lawn terrace across the road, meaning plenty of space to run around or enjoy an alfresco drink altogether. Dogs are also welcome to join breakfast, dinner or drinks in the Hampton House conservatory, too.

Beyond the hotel, Edinburgh has lots of lovely green space. Dogs on leads are welcome in Princes Street Gardens, a short 20-minute stroll from the hotel,  or for those feeling a little more adventurous, there is no better view of the city than atop Arthur’s Seat.

Head back to the hotel via the Water of Leith walkway and reward yourself – and your pup – with an afternoon tea (featuring doggy treats of course) or the hotel's own DunGin & Tonic on the terrace.

Rates start from £195 on a B&B basis, double occupancy basis including a £30 supplement for dogs. Stays are capped at one dog per room.
